Lee Barrett has been named to the TOP 50 HIT National Leaders in 2016 and 2017. Mr. Barrett serves as the Executive Director of Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC), a national 501c6 non-profit nationally recognized accreditation organization focused on providing stakeholder trust regarding managing risk mitigation strategies around reducing risk of HIPAA breach, incident and Cybersecurity/Ransomware attacks and Organizational Readiness Plans. EHNAC is nationally recognized for its focus on risk mitigation for organizations as it provides a framework for review of privacy, security including cybersecurity/ransomware, technical/operational infrastructure, best practices, and resources.

 

Mr. Barrett has 25 years working with payers, providers, and vendors in senior leadership roles. He has 10 years leading healthcare consulting organizations such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Covansys, SAIC, Virtusa and others. He has led several healthcare organizations and guided their growth and acquisition by other entities including Claredi and MBEXX. He Chaired the ASC X12N Insurance Subcommittee where he led the development of all the healthcare EDI transactions adopted under HIPAA, Chaired WEDI in 2000-2001 and is a frequent national speaker on HIT, legislative reform i.e., privacy, security, Cybersecurity, confidentiality, and Accreditation.

 

Mr. Barrett is nationally recognized and sought as a presenter, author and panelist at conferences and webinars regarding cybersecurity and ransomware assuring stakeholder trust and mitigating risk of a HIPAA breach or incident. He has developed numerous whitepapers and feature articles and is followed by the media for his guidance and opinions.
