Michael Kaiser is an internationally known cybersecurity education and awareness leader with expertise in protecting personal information, privacy, and public private partnerships. Mr. Kaiser most recently was the Executive Director of the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) from 2008 until 2018.  NCSA’s efforts promoting a safer, more secure and more trusted Internet, included signature initiatives, National Cyber Security Awareness Month, Data Privacy Day, the STOP. THINK. CONNECT. campaign, and CyberSecure My Business. In 2017, at the request of the White House as part of President Obama’s Cybersecurity National Action Plan, Mr. Kaiser led an effort with industry, government and civil society that led to creating the Lock Down Your Login campaign encouraging the use of strong authentication. In 2017, NCSA’s efforts won two Silver Anvil Awards from the Public Relations Society of America and in 2009, Mr. Kaiser was named one of SC Magazine’s information security luminaries.

 

Prior to NCSA, Mr. Kaiser spent more than two decades holding executive management positions at the National Center for Victims of Crime in Washington, DC and Safe Horizon in New York City. He led the development and implementation of programs for victims of domestic violence, stalking, teen victims, and others whose lives had been impacted by crime. In 1998, he co-authored with his wife Laura Fisher Kaiser, The Official Ebay Guide to Buying, Selling and Collecting Just About Anything.
