Ken Yang is a co-founder of Globle , an initiative to modernize the world’s institutions towards real democracy and fair capitalism. Globle promotes the adoption of technologies and policies that power the decentralized political economies of tomorrow. Previously, Ken served as Chief Operating Officer of MannLab , a company that researches, develops, and commercializes the inventions of Dr. Steve Mann, founder of the MIT Media Lab Wearable Computing Group and a pioneer in the wearable computing industry.

 

Prior to that, he and Dr. Mann co-founded Splashtones , a company which designs and manufactures hydraulophones, the world’s first musical instrument that creates sound from vibrations in water. Ken began his career at the Canadian corporate law firm, Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, where he specialized in the corporate governance policies of publicly traded companies.

 

Ken has performed widely as a concert pianist. He is a National Grand Prize winner at the Canadian Musical Competitions and has appeared as a soloist with leading classical artists including Lang Lang, Leon Fleisher, and Yuja Wang. Ken trained under the direction of James Anagnoson, Dean of The Royal Conservatory’s Glenn Gould School, and is an alumnus of the prestigious Morningside Music Bridge International Music Festival. Ken holds a JD/MBA from the University of Toronto.
